Philadelphia Insurance Companies Slam Dunk for Cancer

Philadelphia Insurance Companies “Team PHLY” and Philly’s “BIG 5 Coaches” will tip off for the American Cancer Society at the Palestra in Philadelphia on October 10, 2008 at 5:30 PM.

Sean Sweeney, PHLY’s Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer commented: “At PHLY we believe in giving back through fitness. More than ten thousand Americans are struck by cancer each year; we’re taking this challenge on the court. A basketball event is a fun way for all of us to support a worthy cause while staying fit; it’s like two loves in one.”

Over 500 PHLY employees, families, friends and BIG 5 fans are expected to attend. PHLY fans will have the opportunity to meet the coaches; and also receive autographs, photographs, and giveaways. “I have recruited only the top PHLY talent for our team — PHLY Chairman & Founder, Jim Maguire will tip off the game,” continued Sweeney.

Phil Martelli head coach at St. Joseph’s University said, “We look forward to a great game and fun evening. On behalf of the BIG 5 Coaches, we support Philadelphia Insurance Companies mission in giving back to the community and promoting a winning attitude through fitness.”
